Michael A. Ruane, Managing Partner
Mr. Ruane founded TA Realty in 1982 and is responsible for guiding the overall strategy of the Firm.  Previously, he was a Senior Management Consultant and Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Young & Company, where his client list included several major real estate companies. He graduated from Providence College with an A.B. in Economics and received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was the Allied Chemical Foundation Fellow.

James O. Buckingham, Managing Partner
Mr. Buckingham joined TA Realty in 1997. Mr. Buckingham guides and executes the strategic direction of the Firm and also focuses on Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Partner at Davis Partners, a regional real estate development and management firm based in Southern California, where he was responsible for the acquisition and management of development projects. Previously, Mr. Buckingham worked at CBRE, specializing in the leasing and sales of suburban office product in Southern California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Economics.

Thomas E. Landry, Managing Partner
Mr. Landry joined TA Realty in 2006. Mr. Landry guides and executes the strategic direction of the Firm and also focuses on Investor Relations and Operations. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as a Project Manager for NMB, a Dutch pension fund with U.S. real estate holdings, and as a Sales Associate with Spaulding & Slye in Washington D.C., a Boston‐based commercial real estate services firm. Previously, Mr. Landry was the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Golf Association. He graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Economics.

Scott W. Amling, Partner
Mr. Amling joined TA Realty in 2001. Mr. Amling’s primary focuses are Asset Management and Portfolio  Management.  Prior  to  joining  the  Firm,  he  was  a  Vice  President  of  Asset  Management  at  PM  Realty  Advisors,  an  advisory  firm  based  in  Newport  Beach,  CA.  Previously,  Mr.  Amling  was  employed  by AMRESCO, a Dallas‐based asset management company. He graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.S. Magna Cum Laude in Business Administration/Marketing and received an M.B.A. from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA with an emphasis in Finance.

Alan E. Brand, Partner
Mr. Brand joined TA Realty in 2000. Mr. Brand’s primary focuses are Asset Management and Finance. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Director at Eastern Realty Advisors, Inc. Previously, Mr. Brand was the Vice President of Real Estate Lending at Fleet Bank. He graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Political Science and received an M.P.A. from Suffolk University.

Scott L. Dalrymple, Partner
Mr. Dalrymple joined TA Realty in 2003. Mr. Dalrymple is the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. His primary focuses are Finance and Compliance. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Senior Manager and Certified Public Accountant at Ernst & Young LLP, focused primarily on real estate and private equity clients. He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. Cum Laude in Business Administration.

Nicole Dutra Grinnell, Partner
Ms. Dutra Grinnell joined TA Realty in 2002. Ms. Dutra Grinnell’s primary focus is Portfolio Management, and she is a Portfolio Manager on the firm’s core property fund. During her tenure at the Firm, she has worked within several different functional groups, focusing on all phases of the investment cycle, including acquisitions, dispositions and valuations. Additionally, she sits on the Firm’s Acquisition Committee and has served as a Portfolio Manager for both core separate accounts and value-add, closed-end funds. Prior to joining the Firm, she was an Associate in the Capital Markets Group of Spaulding & Slye, a Boston-based real estate services firm. Previously, Ms. Dutra Grinnell was a Property Analyst with Holiday Fenoglio Fowler.  She graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Psychology.

Douglas M. Engelman, Partner
Mr. Engelman joined TA Realty in 2003. Mr. Engelman’s primary focus is Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Principal with PM Realty Advisors, where he held investment and portfolio management positions. Previously, Mr. Engelman was a Senior Vice President in the Los Angeles office of Heitman Financial, where he was responsible for arranging and managing third‐party debt for institutional clients. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and an M.S. in Real Estate Appraisal and Investment Analysis.

Nathan L. Foss, Partner
Mr. Foss joined TA Realty in 2009. Mr. Foss is the Firm’s Director of Accounting. His primary focuses are Accounting and Operations. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Controller at Fidelity Investments. Previously, Mr. Foss was the Director of Finance and Reporting for Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors and was a Vice President and Controller at Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch, LLC. He was also a Senior Auditor and Certified Public Accountant for Arthur Young & Company. He graduated from Merrimack College with a B.S. in Accounting.

Christopher J. Good, Partner
Mr. Good joined TA Realty in 2000. Mr. Good’s primary focus is Asset Management. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Vice President in the Real Estate Finance Group at FleetBoston Financial. Previously, Mr. Good was an Asset Manager at GE Capital in Boston. He graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Organizational Behavior and Management.

Michael R. Haggerty, Partner
Mr. Haggerty joined TA Realty in 1998. Mr. Haggerty’s primary focus is Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was the Assistant Acquisitions Director at Westmark Realty Advisors. Previously, Mr. Haggerty was the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at Fleet Bank. He graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Political Science and received an M.B.A. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Randell L. Harwood, Partner
Mr. Harwood joined TA Realty in 2014. Mr. Harwood’s primary focus is Valuations. Prior to joining the Firm, he was the Senior Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation and Advisory in the New England area. Previously, Mr. Harwood was a Director of the PwC Real Estate Group and a Senior Manager with the E&Y Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group of Ernst & Young LLP. He was also a Senior Appraiser at Cushman & Wakefield. He graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in History and received an M.B.A. from Boston College with a concentration in Finance. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute and holds the MAI designation. He is also a member of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).

Heather L. Hohenthal, Partner
Ms. Hohenthal joined TA Realty in 1999. Ms. Hohenthal’s primary focuses are Asset Management and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the Firm, she was an Associate at Robertson Stephens. Previously, Ms.  Hohenthal  was  an  Associate  at  Landauer  Associates  Capital  Markets  and  an  Asset  Manager  at  Hyperion Realty Advisors. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. Cum Laude in Real Estate and Urban Economics and received an M.S. in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

James P. Knowles, Partner
Mr. Knowles joined TA Realty in 1998. Mr. Knowles’ primary focus is Asset Management. Prior to joining the Firm, he was the Vice President of Finance and the Director of Asset Management for Rosewood Development Corporation, a Massachusetts-based commercial real estate development firm. Previously, Mr. Knowles was an Associate Asset Manager with Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch and a former Certified Public Accountant. He graduated from Fairfield University with a B.A. in Economics and received an M.B.A. from Drexel University with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.

L. Kendrick Leckband, Partner
Ms. Leckband joined TA Realty in 2007. Ms. Leckband’s primary focuses are Asset Management and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the Firm, she was a Market Representative at ProLogis, responsible for the leasing and operations of industrial assets in Los Angeles, Orange County and Inland Empire. Previously, Ms. Leckband was a Property Manager with Lincoln Property Company Commercial, Inc. in Dallas, TX. She graduated with a B.S. from the University of Texas, Austin and received an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University.

J. Blair Lyne, Partner
Mr. Lyne joined TA Realty in 2002. Mr. Lyne’s primary focus is Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was  the  Director  of  Real  Estate  for  the  Dead  River  Company,  a  private  real  estate  and  petroleum investment company based in Portland, ME. Previously, Mr. Lyne was a Vice President of Acquisitions at Cabot Partners, a Boston‐based real estate investment advisory firm and an Asset Manager for Copley Real Estate Advisors. He graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Mathematics and received an M.S. in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Nhat M. Nguyen, Partner
Mr. Nguyen joined TA Realty in 2007. Mr. Nguyen’s primary focuses are Asset Management, Finance, and Portfolio Management, after spending five years in Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as an Aviation Officer in the U.S. Navy for eight years with combat experience. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in Chemistry and received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

John W. Powell, Partner
Mr. Powell joined TA Realty in 2003. Mr. Powell’s primary focuses are Asset Management and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the Firm, he was an Asset Manager at PM Realty Advisors. Previously, Mr. Powell worked for Lend Lease, First Interstate Bank and Cushman and Wakefield. He graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Economics.

James P. Raisides, Partner
Mr. Raisides joined TA Realty in 1996. Mr. Raisides’ primary focus is Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the Firm, he was an Associate at Whittier Partners, a Boston‐based management and leasing company. Previously, Mr. Raisides was a Review Appraiser at the Bank of Boston. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Economics.

Sean P. Ruhmann, Partner
Mr. Ruhmann joined TA Realty in 2016. Mr. Ruhmann’s primary focus is Portfolio Management, and he is a Portfolio Manager on the firm’s core property fund. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Partner and Director of Private Markets Research at NEPC, LLC, where he led the Real Estate and Real Assets Investment Research Group. Previously, Mr. Ruhmann was a Vice President in the Real Estate Investment Banking group at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he advised real estate focused clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, debt capital raises and equity capital raises. He graduated from Trinity College with a B.S. in Engineering, Texas A&M University with an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and received an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Devin C. Sullivan, Director
Mr. Sullivan joined TA Realty in 2017. Mr. Sullivan’s primary focus is Investor Relations. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Director of Institutional Services at Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation, where he was responsible for developing and servicing client and consultant relationships. Previously, Mr. Sullivan was an Associate at State Street Global Advisors, working with the sales/marketing, client service, consultant relations and product management teams in order to accurately communicate investment philosophy, product offerings and organizational information to prospective investors. He graduated from Hamilton College with a B.A. in Government.

Brooks D. Wales, Partner
Mr. Wales joined TA Realty in 1999. Mr. Wales’ primary focuses are Asset Management and Portfolio Management. Prior to joining the Firm, he was an Appraiser at CB Richard Ellis/Whittier Partners in Boston, where he was responsible for market research and analysis for the compilation of appraisal reports. He graduated from Connecticut College with a B.A. in Economics.

Gregory A. Waxman, Partner
Mr. Waxman joined TA Realty in 2004. Mr. Waxman’s primary focuses are Acquisitions and Portfolio Management, after previously spending four years in Dispositions, following seven years in Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Senior Property Accountant at CB Richard Ellis – N.E. Partners, where he oversaw the financial reporting of a number of high profile office buildings. Previously, Mr. Waxman was a Research Analyst with Thomson Financial. He graduated from Boston University with a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance.

James F. Whalen, Partner
Mr. Whalen joined TA Realty in 1992. Mr. Whalen’s primary focus is Acquisitions. Prior to joining the Firm, he was a Director at Ætna Realty Investors, Inc., where he was involved in the investment management and disposition of properties for institutional clients. Previously, Mr. Whalen was a Certified Public Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, and had responsibility for clients in real estate and financial services. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Accounting, where he was an Honors Scholar, and received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
